Seabed Sediment Map of Denmark 1:250.000

Map showing the structure of the seabed and the distribution of sediments within the upper 0.5 metre of the seabed. The map covers the entire Danish Economic Exclusive Zone.

The sediment types mainly reflect grain size (mud, sand, gravel and stone) Till/diamict is, however, a mixed sediment. Areas where older sedimentary rocks occur close to seabed are also shown. Since data points are not evenly distributed, and very scarce in certain areas the map interpretation is based on extrapolation end expert assessment.

This map is generalized to the scale 1:250.000, there is a version of the map which includes all the mapped details.
