Recorded earthquakes in Denmark

Dette datasæt giver en landsdækkende oversigt over alle registrerede jordskælv i Danmark, herunder tid, position, dybde og styrke (magnitude). Registreringer er baseret på data fra GEUS’ nationale seismiske netværk og omfatter både målte jordskælv og efterfølgende kvalitetssikrede observationer. Datasættet opdateres løbende og afspejler den bedste videnskabelige vurdering af seismisk aktivitet i Danmark, hvor forbedret instrumentering og analyse i dag gør det muligt at registrere langt svagere rystelser end tidligere.

This dataset provides a national overview of all registered earthquakes in Denmark, including time, location, depth and magnitude. The recordings are based on data from GEUS’ national seismic network and comprise both measured earthquakes and subsequently quality-assured observations. The dataset is continuously updated and reflects the best scientific assessment of seismic activity in Denmark, where improved instrumentation and analysis today allow detection of much weaker tremors than historically.

Beskrivelse Beskrivelse: Datasættet er baseret på observationer fra GEUS’ nationale seismiske netværk og tilknyttede seismografer, der løbende registrerer seismisk aktivitet i Danmark og nærliggende områder. Registreringerne indsamles automatisk i GEUS’ jordskælvsdatabase og undergår efterfølgende både automatisk og manuel kvalitetskontrol udført af seismologer. Som led i kvalitetskontrollen identificeres og frasorteres ikke-seismiske hændelser, herunder sprængninger forårsaget af militære aktiviteter eller andre menneskeskabte kilder. Datasættet repræsenterer en løbende fortolkning af seismiske målinger og afspejler det anvendte datagrundlag, instrumentering og analysemetoder på tidspunktet for registreringen.

The dataset is based on observations from GEUS’ national seismic network and associated seismographs that continuously record seismic activity in Denmark and surrounding areas. The recordings are automatically collected in the GEUS earthquake database and subsequently subjected to both automated and manual quality control performed by seismologists. As part of the quality-assurance process, non-seismic events, including explosions caused by military activities or other anthropogenic sources, are identified and removed. The dataset represents an ongoing interpretation of seismic measurements and reflects the data basis, instrumentation and analysis methods applied at the time of registration.
