GeoEnergy – Shallow geothermal energy in Denmark

The dataset comprises geological, hydrogeological and thermal data related to shallow geothermal energy and ground source heat pump systems in Denmark. The data were produced within the GeoEnergy project, a Danish national research project supported by the Danish Energy Agency and focusing on the use of ground source heating based on borehole heat exchangers and heat pumps. The dataset includes measurements of temperature gradients, thermal properties of soils and sediments, and analyses of geological and hydrogeological conditions. Data have been used for modelling heat and groundwater flow and for developing tools and guidelines for planning, design and installation of ground source heating systems.

Beskrivelse

The dataset has been developed through collection, integration and analysis of existing borehole data, temperature measurements and geophysical data from national databases, including Jupiter and GERDA. Measurement programmes for geothermal gradients and thermal properties of Danish sediments have been conducted, along with modelling of heat and groundwater flow. Results have been integrated into GIS-based planning tools for ground source heating systems and quality assured through the research activities of the GeoEnergy project.
